I am trying to get off on the right foot programming a web application against Sql Server. I find the choices of data access overwhelming. I want to choose the best approach.

So far, I think that Sql Server Broker is not the preferred choice for most general application development. It seems that WCF is (which is a suite of Asp.net based tools?) and I would want to implement the service as an .asmx, yes?

I found a site that I am inclined to use as my model. Can someone review the page and see if it is the best and most current information to serve as my model, and/or point me to another, better model?
