The Response.Expires Property

Introduction

The Response.Expires property can be used to specify the expiration time of the page. If the user comes back before the page has expired, then he will see the cached version of the page. Some websites offers a link to display the current page not from cache. For that they simple use a negative number as an argument which forces an immediate expiration. It argument accepts the minutes when the page should expire. However if you need to define a specified date, then you can use the ExpiresAbsolute property, which accepts a date and time.

Example

<%

            ' Expire immediatly

            'Response.Expires = -1

            ' Expire in 20 mins

            Response.Expires = 20

%>
