BizTalk Utilities Core

  • Web Storage System: Submit Mail Messages and Documents from your Exchange 2000 or SharePoint Portal Server to BizTalk Server as soon as they are created or updated.

POP3 Receive Function

  • Debug Option to Log exact messages sent to and received from the POP3 Server to the BizTalk Utilities Event Log.
  • Multiple Routers can be defined to submit messages to different BizTalk Server Locations.
  • Routers have Criteria which get evaluated against Email Message Headers. If the evaluation succeeds, the message is submitted to the configured BizTalk Server Location.
  • An Option for using a Pre-Processor.
  • The Message Body or Attachments can be submitted to BizTalk Server.
  • Processed Messages can be archived to a File or MSMQ.
  • All Configuration tasks are performed with the BizTalk Utilities Administration MMC Snap-In.
  • NTLM/SPA Authentication is supported.

Other

BizTalk Utilities Adapter for Databases

BizTalk Utilities adapter for Databases Overview (Microsoft Word Document)

The Product consists of the following components:

  • ODBC Receive Function and Application Integration Component.
  • Oracle Receive Function and Application Integration Component.
  • Oracle Pipes Support
  • OLEDB Receive Function and Application Integration Component
  • SQL Server Receive Function and Application Integration Component

More

  • The Oracle AIC can optionally be exposed as a Web Service. The Web Service can be run from an existing server that has BizTalk Utilities Adapter for Databases installed or from another Server. (As an interim solution for accessing Oracle Functionality from BizTalk Server 2004).  A sample BizTalk Server 2004 project is also included. (If anyone has the same requirements for the any of the other Database AICs then please let us know so that we can expose the AICs as Web Services as well.)
  • A Legacy Database and Oracle Command AIC has been added, allowing you to execute SQL Statements and optionally return a result to BizTalk Server.
  • Oracle Pipes Support. BizTalk Utilities now allows you to receive Messages from an Oracle Pipe and send Messages to an Oracle Pipe. This will allow a an Oracle trigger to send a Message to an Oracle pipe as soon as data changes within the Oracle Database. A BizTalk Utilities Receive Function can then pick up the Message from the Oracle Pipe and Process it. Oracle Pipes are asynchronous, so it will not impact the Oracle Server.
  • Support for Stored Procedures in the Legacy Database and Oracle AIC has been added.

BizTalk Utilities Adapter for SAP

The BizTalk Utilities Adapter for SAP provides integration between SAP and BizTalk Server 2002/4. The aim of the Adapter is to reduce the complexity and implementation time when integrating a SAP System with BizTalk Server 2002/4.

You can read more about the BizTalk Utilities adapter for SAP here (or download the Adobe PDF version)

The Adapter provides the following functionality:

  • Sending, Receiving and BizTalk Schema generation of SAP IDocs (Version 2.0.0+ Feature)

  • RFC Interface: The RFC interface allows BizTalk Server to call a SAP Remote Function Call without writing any code. BizTalk Server can call the RFC synchronously or asynchronously. The only requirement is a generated SAP .NET Connector Client Proxy.
  • A detailed error message is provided when an invalid Document Replacement Function is detected.

The RFC Interface allows BizTalk Server to make a SAP Remote Function Call without writing any code. The RFC Interface consists of a single BizTalk Application Integration Component (AIC). The RFC Interface requires that a SAP .NET Connector Client Proxy is generated and compiled with the SAP .NET Connector in Visual Studio .NET.

The SAP Adapter has been enhanced to cater for the sending and receiving of IDocs. It has the following features:

  • Uses the SAP .NET Connector Version 1.0.1

  • Generation of BizTalk Schemas from IDoc Types within a SAP System.

  • IDocs can be received and submitted to BizTalk Server 2002/4 using a Receive Function. It features an advanced routing mechanism for submitting the documents to BizTalk Server.
  • IDocs can be sent to a SAP System using an Application Integration Component (AIC).
  • All of this can be easily configured within the BizTalk Utilities Adapter for SAP Administration MMC Snap-In.
  • In addition the routing of IDocs can be tested within the MMC Snap-In.
  • The Adapter does not require that any changes be made to your existing SAP System.

The Schemas include the following records:

  • Control Records
  • Data Records
  • Status Records

It can generate schemas for the following SAP Releases

  • SAP Release 2
  • SAP Release 3
  • SAP Release 4

BizTalk 2004 Legacy adapter Bridge

BizTalk Server 2004 features a revamped Adapter Framework. The premise is that existing Adapters developed for BizTalk Server 2002 cannot be used within this new Framework and would have to re-developed.  If we look at the fact that almost 45% of existing Adapters have been developed by customers themselves this could leave quite an effort when planning to migrate to BizTalk Server 2004.  The BizTalk Utilities Legacy Adapter allows you to use your existing Adapters developed for BizTalk Server 2002 within BizTalk Server 2004, without having to re-develop them for the new Adapter Framework.

You can read more about the BizTalk Legacy adapter Bridge here (or download the Adobe PDF version.)
