What is Assurance? The adapter Suite Assurance provides customers with an enhanced level of support and to protect the investment made in purchasing the 2004 and 2006 Adapter Suite. Assurance provides ongoing support for BizTalk Utilities for the period the Assurance is purchased (12 months). As an Assurance customer, you will receive BizTalk Utilities upgrades when a new version of Microsoft BizTalk Server is released.
Purchasing FAQI have an existing License for one of the Adapters. Can I still upgrade to the 2004 Adapters?Yes, the upgrade to the 2004 version of the Adapters is free. Your 2002 License will still work for the 2004 version. All existing agreements with License holders will be honored. Does the License expire? No, once a License is purchased and issued, it will never expire. Trial Licenses issued for evaluation purposes will. Can payment on the Assurance option be skipped for a year? No, the assurance option must be upheld from the year of purchase. It becomes invalid if it is not paid for. Are there any differences in the Adapters for the different Editions of BizTalk Server? No, functionality within the Adapters is exactly the same. Would I still have access to maintenance releases if I have not purchased assurance?Yes. Maintenance releases are freely distributed and not charged for. Does the amount of processors on my server influence the price of the Adapters? No, a license is issued per server regardless of the amount of processors. What about Development and QA Environments?Once a production license is purchased as many development licenses as required will be issued free of charge. Under the new pricing model QA Environments will be charged for. What about clustering and fail over environments for production systems?Since a License is issued per Server, Fail-over Servers and Servers contained within a cluster need to have individual Licenses purchased. Can I use a License issued for a particular Server on another Server? No, the License Signature generated for a particular Server will not work on another Server. Are the Individual components contained within each Adapter available for purchase? No. Packaging the individual Adapters is an extremely complex task. Can I purchase a Partner Edition of BizTalk Utilities and run this on an Enterprise Version of BizTalk Server? No, the licensing checks within the Adapters will not allow this. Is the source code available for purchase? No. Where do I check the expiry date of my Evaluation License?Every Adapter comes with an Administration Snap-In. Navigate to the Licensing Node within the Administration Snap-In and click on the Adapter Node under the Licensing Node. A report will be displayed displaying the expiry date. For purchased licenses the Report will display an N/A. I don’t want to purchase the Adapters using a Credit Card, are there any other payment options?Yes.
