BizTalk and Refreshing BizTalk Document Definitions
BizTalk
Utilities gives you control
over when revised document definitions are published to the BizTalk database.
How it works
As shown in the following diagram BizTalk
Utilities simply flushes the BizTalk cache, posting document definition
changes to the repository:
Through the use of this tool you are able to select which documents,
envelopes, or channels you would like immediately refreshed. The following
dialog box appears when you start the utility:
Typically you will want all definitions refreshed at once, which is why, by
default, all items are checked. Clicking the “Next” button provides the
following acknowledgement screen:
Finally, by clicking “Finish”, the changes are posted.
Summary
Being able to submit changes to
document definitions at any time allows you to take charge of cached data. This
can be especially convenient during administrative and developments tasks, when
you want to act upon changes right away. This is just another example of how BizTalk
Utilities optimizes the BizTalk Server environment in order to improve
productivity.
