BizTalk and Fax
This simple but extremely useful
part of BizTalk
Utilities empowers BizTalk Solutions to submit messages to fax
servers.
How it works
As the following illustration
explains, BizTalk
Utilities allows faxes to be sent to both internal and
external fax servers:
In order to accomplish this, BizTalk
Utilities introduces the FaxAIC application
integration component. This custom component is set up through the creation of
“fax definitions” – parameter-driven specifications that represent the fax
document.
A Fax Definition Wizard is provided, allowing you to set up the FaxAIC in a
few simple steps. The screen below, for instance, accepts the location of the
fax server, along with other parameters, such as a style sheet that can be used
to transform a document prior to faxing.
Using the following form, you can specify numerous properties of the fax
document, including cover sheet characteristics.
Summary
Through the use of the BizTalk
Utilities FaxAIC, you gain the option of broadening your BizTalk’s
communications framework. By completing a few easy steps, you can now broadcast
messages to fax-based destinations.
