v20030211140706.zip

Summary This code snippet utlizises xmlLinguist from SysOnyx Inc. to translate a sample EDI Purchase Order (ANSI X12 850) into XML.

xmlLinguist is a Text-to-XML translator from SysOnyx Inc. (found at http://www.topxml.com/xmlLinguist) that can be used to tranlsate traditional X12 EDI documents into XML. This snippet includes an xmlLinguist Map file mapping out an 850 Purchase Order, as well as two sample 850 files that you can translate with.

To see this snippet and execute the map, you will need xmlLinguist. Download the 30 day trial at http://www.topxml.com/xmlLinguist/download.asp and install it. Then you can view the 850.ltm file included in this snippet, as well as clicking on Map|Run to translate one of the sample files.

The included 850.ltm map does not attempt to be a complete X12 solution, there are hundreds of different X12 scenarios. Rather, the map created satisfies the need of the supplied 850's. Also, it demonstrates how xmlLinguist can be used to convert your X12 documents into XML, a dire need in the B2B world.
