What's new in Version 2.0!
W2XML 2.0 is DocSoft's first full release to the extremely popular Word-To-XML Converter software. This updated version 2 of W2XML uses Microsoft's .NET® Framework, which allows faster conversions, more stability and greater compatibility. This version also has the capability of converting named styles within Word to attributes within the exported XML. This provides users the ability to create a simple, custom XSLT to take full use of the styles within Word, and the ability to convert the exported XML to a Schema that is conducive to each organization's needs.
This version is also the first software release that uses DocSoft's Universal Application Console freeware, which provides a common interface for all of DocSoft's products, and is DotNet (.NET) Framework-compatible.

Produce Docbook-Compliant Output
New in v 2.0! The software comes with an XSLT that allows you to output Docbook-compliant XML (http://www.docbook.org/). This software will help you convert your legacy data for use within the Docbook framework with minimal effort. And since the software is a plug-in to DocSoft's new Universal Application Console, you can create and save custom workspaces that you can use over and over for easy operation. Use Word as an XML Editor
You can also export to practically any Schema you wish by using W2XML's abilities to capture named styles within Word. When the Word document is converted to XML, class attributes area also added to each element. The value of the class attribute is the style name that is applied within Word. This ability turns Word into an XML editor. All you need to do is create a template (*.dot) within Word and create styles with the same names to match your Schema or DTD, then apply the styles to each area as you are authoring in Word.
