The background-color property (CSS Reference)

Introduction

The background-color property can be used to specify a specific color for the background of a specific HTML element. Here is a short example, which sets the background color of a <h1> and a <p> tag.

The color can be defined in following three ways: (All three colors are red)

color name (red)

hex (#FF0000)
rgb (255,0,0)

transparent

This value can be used to make the background color transparent.
