The display property (CSS Reference)
Introduction
The display property can be used to control if an element is
displayed or not. If you are using this property without any placeholder then
no space is reserved for the control. It would be displayed, as the element
doesn’t exist on the page. With the help of dynamic html you can make the
element later visible again. Note: All values in this property are not
completely supported by IE or Netscape.
