The outline-style property (CSS Reference)

Introduction

The outline-style property is used to define the style of the outline. As the name says an outline is a line drawn around an element to make it more noticeable for the user. 

Note: Please check if the browser you're targeting supports this property yet. Many don't, at the time of publishing.

dashed

Draws a dashed outline around the element.

dotted

Draws a dotted outline around the element.

double

Draws a double outline around the element.

groove

Draws a 3D groove outline around the element.

inset

Draws a 3D inset outline around the element.

none

This value can be used if you do not want to show any outline. It can also be useful to prevent previous settings for the current element.

outset

Draws a 3D outset outline around the element.

ridge

Draws a 3D ridge outline around the element.

solid

Draws a solid outline around the element.
