The Color Unit (CSS Reference)

Introduction

The Color Unit can be used to define a color. You can either use the color name like red, blue, yellow etc. or a numeric rgb value. If you use the rgb option then you have again four options. The following table shows it.

Values

Name:

Description:

#rgb (e.g., #0c0)

This option is used to define the color in three hex decimal characters.

#rrggbb (e.g., #00cc00)

This option is used to define the color in 6 hex decimal characters.

rgb(X,X,X)

This option is used to define the color with a value between 0-255.

rgb(Y%,Y%,Y%)

This option is used to define the color with a value between 0.0% and 100.0%.
