In my organization, we use the Adapter for databases to access data on Oracle databases. This works fine for my coworkers but when I installed the newer version, new problems occured and noone can help me. "Works on my box".

I had to install a newer version because of recommendation from Enabler, since .net framwork 2.0 is installed on the machine.

In june 2006 another Top XML user had the exact same problem and posted about it: http://www.topxml.com/forum/m.asp?m=4288&mpage=1&key= but "he" did not receive any reply.

The problem is this. Whenever the adapeter tries to access data on the database I get the following error:
BTSUtils.Core.EnterpriseInstrumentation.Schema.ErrorMessageEvent
{
  String Message = "An Exception occurred attempting to start an EndPoint. The Uri is 'database://Microsoft .NET Data Provider for Oracle/Persist Security Info=True;Password=xxx;User ID=xxx;Data Source=XXX;/YYY'

System.ArgumentException

Requested value true was not found."

This is a seriuos problem for me and I really need to be able to connect to Oracle databases.

Ofcourse I have tried the obvious ones like veryfying user name, password, basic access and so forth.

Nothing but love

Well, I managed to "solve" it by myself.
What I did was to change the URI from the setting that was given to me, to the setting mentioned in the documentation, i.e. database://Provider/RootElement/RowElement.

Well, it worked so just to test it I changed it back to the old setting and it still worked.
Now I do not file this under solved but the problem is no more. I do not know why though.

You should not specify the connection string as part of the Uri, there are other properties for this.

That, is not for me to decide since I am just a simple consultant but I have tried anyway.
However I will pass it on.
