Error: BizTalk Utilities Adapter for Databases Receiver - 4 January 2007

We resently upgraded to the most current release of the Biztalk Utilities adapter to correct an Oracle Pipes problem.  We have encountered problem with the Database Transport adapter that connectes to oracle through the Oracle Data Provider .Net.  The Receive port executes a stored procedure that returns back a Ref Cursor with a row of data that we pass to another process for processing.  The polling does execute the stored procedure correctly because we can see the after effects on the database as a result of the procedure being run.  It just when data is returned the adapter failes.

The previous version of the adapter worked beautifully with the execption of generating an error when no rows returned.  The upgrade does not generate the execption when no rows are returned, however is does generate the following when a row is returned.  We have even gone so far as to delete the receive location and recreated from scratch incase it required some new parameters.  We have a number of these built on different servers and they are error the same way.  According to our support group that takes care of the installation and setting of the adapters, everything has been installed properly.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I have included a snap shot of the installed assemblies showing the version numbers of the properties.

Can you confirm the exact version of the Adapter?

Also is this a multi server environment?

We are at version 4.0.4.  The adapters are running on multiple Win2003 virtual servers.

The configured receive ports are currently only ruinning on single Virutal Win2003 servers so we don't have them clustered at this time.

Can you double-check to see if the assemblies are actually present within the GAC as well.

BTS may report these, but they may not be in the GAC.

The receive locations aren't attached to any orchestration/assembly so we can't export the binding file.  We use the inbound maps function on the receive port to send the data to a map and then have send ports with filters listening for the output from the map.  This was all working excellently prior to the 4.0.4 release.

What are you specifically looking for.  We are checking to see if there is a way to create a binding file for just receive port.

We are specifically lloking at getting this replicated in our test environment.

e would need your table structures and SPs as well as the configuration for the Receive Location.

another group in our department is running into the same problem, except he is using and orchestration.  I have email support with the binding file and error text.  If you need more let us know please.

Problem resolved.  After reinstalling version 4.0.5 on a different server and setting up our code on it everything worked out just fine without any other modification.  Then went back to our development server, uninstalled version 3, installed version 4.05, and we go the missing property schemas error again.  Taking a closer look it seemed that the install did not properly install the property schemas for the adapters.  Uninstalled and then reinstalled again then the property schemas for the adapters showed up.  Tested and we are back in business.  I have attached pictures to show what the differences are for the good install and the incomplete install on the two different servers.  The picture on the left is from the bad installed and the one on the right is the good install.
