I am just getting ready to use the Biztalk 2002 utilities so that I am able to send email messages via Biztalk. I need to name the file created through Biztalk with a field value from the document. Taking the following path: - Messaging port properties Destination Organisation Primary Transport Address I am able to set what I want to call the file as it is created i.e. file://C:\Documents and setting\%document_name%%tracking_Id%.xml I know that this %document_name% refers to the header of the document specification But what I need to do is refer to a particular field within the document. Does anyone know how to do this?

Hallo. Have a look at the BizTalk Utilities Help File BizTalk Utilities/Application Integration Components/Standard Features. There is a section discussing the usage of the document function. Cheers

Firstly, thank you very much with all the help via email to resolve the installation problem of Biztalk Utilities. I have now installed biztalk utilities and i am setting up the Document Parameter Replacement. I have a Messaging port which i need to enter the xpath expression into. From this messaging port i have 3 channels all which use there own map. The maps have differnet Source specification on them but the same Destination Specification. Could you give me an example of what i should be entering into the Primary Transport Address. Thanks again for all you help so far

You would have to select Application Integration Component as the Primary Transport and then select BTSUtils.FileAIC from the list.

The AICs are installed with the product installation. Do you see them within the Application Integration List?

I have now selected the Application Integration Component as the Primary Transport and then select BTSUtils.FileAIC from the list. I am now trying to set the location and file name. I have gone into the Advanced Configuration of the Channel Properties, and the properties of the primary transport component. I am entering in the destination file name as: - d:\temp\%document("StartOfFile/Header/HeaderInfo[CustOrdRef]")%.csv But this is erroring:- Event Type: Warning Event Source: BizTalk Server Event Category: Document Processing Event ID: 324 Date: 29/11/2004 Time: 14:51:16 User: N/A Computer: ROSCO Description: An error occurred in BizTalk Server. Details: ------------------------------ [0x80131500] Illegal characters in path. at System.IO.Path.GetFileName(String path) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize) at System.IO.StreamWriter.CreateFile(String path, Boolean append) at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append, Encoding encoding, Int32 bufferSize) at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path) at BTSUtils.FileAIC.Execute(IDictionary Dictionary) at BTSUtils.Core.Base.AICBase.Microsoft.CommerceServer.Interop.IPipelineComponent.Execute(Object pdispOrder, Object pdispContext, Int32 lFlags) [0x0159] The server encountered a transport error while processing the messaging port "Port To PAT@ts1", which uses a transport component with a ProgID of "BTSUtils.FileAIC". [0x012b] A transmission attempt failed Also should i be using a path from my source definition or the destination definition?

You should be using the path for your destination Definition. Can you maybe mail us a sample of the document so that we can check your XPath Expression?
