Hi there

We use the TopXml Oracle Adapter for a few of our projects.  I am trying to use it on my development box and having problems creating a schema using the Database Schema Wizard.

I select "Oracle Data Provider for .NET Version 10.2.0.200" for Data Provider and input my connection information.  When I click on "Test Connection" button I am getting the following error:

The type initializer for 'Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection' threw an exception.

I look in the Event Log and I cannot find any more information.

I have no troubles doing queries against this database using SQL Plus and Golden32.  I have the latest version of the Oracle Client installed and version 4.0.7 of BizTalk Utilities Adapter for Databases installed.

I have created custom .net code and have no problems connecting either.

Any ideas, thanks

Luciano Barbieri

What version of the ODP.NET Client do you have installed?

Is this 64-Bit?

What is the version of the ODP.NET Provider tat you downloaded? This needs to match with the version of the Provider.

I downloaded Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio .NET with ODAC 10.2.0.2.21 from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/windows/odpnet/index.html.

Sorry but what do you mean by version of Provider?  Is there another download that must match up in versions?

Thanks

Luciano

The Provider we have specified as Oracle Data Provider for .NET Version 10.2.0.200 should match with the following ODP.NET Assembly in the GAC Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleParameter, Oracle.DataAccess, Version=1.102.2.20, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89b483f429c47342.

Is this version of the Oracle Assembly in the GAC?
