rdwalsh -> Error in POP3 Receive Function (11 October 2004)

I recently downloaded and installed the latest BizTalk Utilities to correct the problem with \temp files accumulating. Now I am unable to get the POP3 receive function to process incoming files. If a message exists that matches my routing definition, the following event log error is generated every 60 seconds and an empty \temp file is created.

---------------------------------------------------------------
Process

An Exception occurred during the Processing of the POP3 Receive Function 'nt09828'. Details are as follows:

System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException

The system cannot find the path specified.

at CDOEX.net.IBodyPart.SaveToFile(String FileName)
at BTSUtils.ReceiveFunctions.POP3.Location.processAttachments(Message message, Destination destination)
at BTSUtils.ReceiveFunctions.POP3.Location.Process()
----------------------------------------------------------------

I had initially installed the latest version over the top of the existing BizTalk Utilities. When I got this error, I uninstalled and did a new installation to no avail.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you,
Rod Walsh

This is an extremely strange error. The Exception is basically saying that it could not find the Directory.

Are you sure that the user under which your running the BizTalk Utilities Service has a Temproary Folder?

Maybe ensure that the Service is ruinnging under the BizTalk Service Account and not the System Account?

Cheers

Thanks Pieter for your quick response. I am running BizTalk Utilities under the BizTalk service account and there is a temporary folder for that user. Because a 0 byte file gets written to that folder every minute, it appears that the temp file is being created and then the file handle is passed to CDO but the path is not being communicated.

FYI - I did have to update MDAC before upgrading and it is now at version 2.8

Apologies for this late reply. We are currently looking into the problem. We will let you know as soon as we have resolved the issue.

Pieter -> RE: Error in POP3 Receive Function (20 October 2004)

This is a bug, we have fixed the issue. But will only be able to release a new version once a FTP Problem has been fixed on the TopXML Site.

Cheers

Pieter -> RE: Error in POP3 Receive Function (24 October 2004)

Hallo. The Issue has been resolved with the current release of BizTalk Utilities which you can download from TopXML.
