Basic Function:

¬      Develops and maintains managed desktop environment.

¬      Develops, tests, and deploys software distribution packages, operating system updates, and security updates via Systems Management Server (SMS).

¬      Determines deployment methodology, conducts test pilots, and completes system documentation.

¬      Administers group policy objects for desktop clients. Creates and maintains Ghost images for deployment on multiple hardware platforms.

Responsibilities:

¬              Develops, tests, and deploys software distribution packages, operating system updates, and security updates via Systems Management Server (SMS).

¬              Evaluates and determines deployment methodology and conducts test pilots. Develops and maintains system documentation and deployment procedures.

¬              Evaluates implements and maintains Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPO) for desktop clients.

¬              Develops managed desktop implementation strategy, collaborates with coworkers to determine policies to implement and maintains policy documentation.

SUPPORT

¬              Resolving 2nd level technical support issues, working within standard operating procedures and policies.

¬              Returns calls from users promptly and responds to user inquiries with appropriate level of urgency based on documented SLAs.

¬              Follows up on all questions, problems, or suggestions from users.

¬              Documents problems and corrective procedures. Recommends enhancements to standard operating procedures and policies based on experience.

¬              Interacts with other technology groups to identify and correct problems.

Uses team and project meetings to keep the team fully aware of managed desktop environment and package deployments and to support a team environment of continuous feedback and idea sharing.

Must Experience:

¬              Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 5-7 years providing Help Desk, PC or Technical support.

¬              2-3 years experience developing and deploying software packages via Systems Management Server (SMS).

¬              2-3 years experience managing Active Directory Group Policies.

¬      Certifications needed:

¬              Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician

¬              Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Microsoft Systems Management Server Certification

¬              Ability to travel 20-30% worldwide.

¬      Preferred Experience:

¬              3-5 years of project management experience
