This function checks whether the node has attributes or not.

Usage:

boolDOMNode->hasAttributes ( void )

PHP Code:

<employeeaddress>test123</employeeaddress>

<SSN>12343456</SSN>

<company>XYZ Corporation</company>

</employee>

XML;

$dom = new domDocument;

//load the XML string into the DOM

$dom->loadXML($xmlstr);

//retrieve the first element with name employeename

$employeename = $dom->getElementsByTagName('employeename')->item(0);

echo "<HTML>";

echo "<Head>";

echo "<title>Example of DOMNode->hasAttributes</title>";

echo "<Head>";

echo "<body>";

echo "<PRE>";

//check whether node has attributes or not

if($employeename->hasAttributes()){

      //retrieve the attributes as NamedNodeMap

      $namedNode = $employeename ->attributes;

      foreach ( $namedNode as $namedItem => $item ) {

$name = $item ->name;

$value = $item ->value;

echo "<BR>Value of the $name attribute is :".$value;

      }

}else{

echo "There is no attribute with employeename node";

echo "</PRE>";
