DOMNode Function isSameNode

PHP Version: (No version information might be only in CVS. I have used this function in PHP5)

Description

This function checks if two nodes are the same node.

Usage:

boolDOMNode->isSameNode ( object node)

This functions indicates if two nodes are the same node. The comparison is NOT based on content.

PHP Code:

<?php

$xmlstr = <<<XML

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<company>

<employee>

<employeename id="myId">test1</employeename>

<employeeaddress>testAddress1</employeeaddress>

<SSN>11111</SSN>

<company>XYZ Corporation</company>

</employee>

<employee>

<employeename id="myId1">test1</employeename>

<employeeaddress>testAddress1</employeeaddress>

<SSN>11111</SSN>

<company>ABC Corporation</company>

</employee>

</company>

XML;

$dom = new domDocument;

//load the XML string into the DOM

$dom->loadXML($xmlstr);

//retrieve the first element with name employee

$employee0 = $dom->getElementsByTagName('employee')->item(0);

//retrieve the second element with name employee

$employee1 = $dom->getElementsByTagName('employee')->item(1);

echo "<HTML>";

echo "<Head>";

echo "<title>Example of DOMNode->isSameNode</title>";

echo "<Head>";

echo "<body>";

echo "<PRE>";

if($employee0->isSameNode($employee1)){

      echo "first employee node is same as second employee node";

}else{

      echo "first employee node is not same as second employee node";

echo "</PRE>";

echo "</body>";

echo "</HTML>";

?>

Output:

The expected output would be:

first employee node is not same as second employee node
