Lately, with Web 2.0 and SOA, have seen quite some references to Software Factories and modules "assembled" into a complete solution. And these "modules" most likely being open source implementations. And some taking the argument further and spelling doom for conventional software companies. Including this post on ZD-Net (which incidentally refers to an article from the antithesis of such software platforms- Microsoft
