The begining....

Welcome to the very first post of Under The Influence (of code). I am Software Design Engineer based in SF Bay area. I have a deep and keen interest in Computer Science and Software Engineering.

I've been wanting to start blogging for a long time now, but haven't been able to do so either due to schedule pressures an/or personal commitments and/or the lack of motivation thereof.

I tend to do a lot of code prototyping and recently  I was in need to some stuff I had proptotyped a while back, I searched for nearly 2 hours in vain but was unable to find what I was looking for and this was motivation enough for me to start blogging and have a personal diary of code I have written and or designs I'm working on.

Recently MSFT has thrown a lot of new and exciting technologies at developers. While I find myself being intoxicated by the likes of Silverlight, ASP.NET MVC, WCF,F#, Oslo, Azure to name a few.
I also need to reckon with the fact that I have a limited bandwidth in terms of time and pure brain capacity.
Hence the inception of UTIOC; a place to crystallize and document my thoughts ideas and learnings as I work through ....well.. code.

As <a href="http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Linus_Torvalds">some one</a> onc once said "Talk is cheap show me the code"; this blog will have ample of code where applicable.

I strongly believe in reading good code of fellow developers as much as writing since it is crucial to read good code to become an effective code writer. So stay tuned.....
