A few years back, I recall reading Don`s XML book and questioning a statement he made
in the last chapter (if memory serves).
He said something about re-examining traditional OO encapsulation and data (or at
least I think he did) -- I should just walk to the bookshelf and look it up -- but
I am waiting on Half-Life2 to load.
Over the last couple of weeks, we have dealing with a number of issues related to
the need for a "known universe of types" for deserialization and the notion of encapsulation.
We have a good solution to address these issues, but it became clear to me that Don
was on point with he made this statement.
Once we release something more widely, I talk more about this topic, how we solved
it in Indigo, and how I would like to see it resolved in the future.
