Announcing Neuron 2.0 General Release Distribution, Case Study, and SOA Software

I announced back here, that we had released Neuron 2.0 RTM and a Press Release announcing the availability of Neuron 2.0! 

It not only contained information regarding our certification by SOA Software but it also included a quote from one of customers, ThinkCash:

Following this press release, we also published our first public case study on the use Neuron at Fidelity LSI in which they are using Neuron to distribute 28 million messages an hour to 1,500 workstations!

The Neuron team has an ongoing partnership with SOA Software, the leading provider of SOA Governance solutions in the industry. With our announcement of Neuron RTM availability, SOA Software released their own press release announcing the certification of Neuron as a Governed Service Platform!

What does this mean?  For customers looking for larger SOA solutions in their enterprise they can now feel secure that Neuron is enterprise ready to participate in those governed solutions and can successfully partner with industry notables like SOA Software.  Moreover, SOA Software has quite a bit of visibility in the industry, hence their press release provides us even more visibility!  You can read about it here.

We are releasing a General Release Distribution (GDR) of Neuron 2.0 that includes even more features:

Here are but some of the features above and beyond RTM:

·         Messaging and Reliability layer

o   Auditing and Reliability layer will now preserve against message loss

o   First iteration of Policy support for endpoints has been added.  This will allow you to create a policy that will execute on end point exception.  A policy may contain retry semantics, republish to a topic, suspend the endpoint or write to a file. o   Added support for transacted messaging for channels and adapters that support transactions (MSMQ channel, MSMQ adapter, Active MQ adapter) o   Added support for modifying message context properties using the transform shape of a pipeline

·         Adapters

o   Property Grid fixed for Microsoft BizTalk WCF Line Of Business Adapters (SAP, Oracle, Siebel)

o   New Neuron .NET adapters added, SMTP and ActiveMQ o   .NET adapter non – typed property grid replaced with typed property grid o   Meta data model added for adapters o   Enhanced adapters to allow reliable communication to the bus o   Enhanced adapters to allow any type of message through the bus (flat file, xml, binary) o   Ability to restart adapter end points within Neuron ESB Health Monitor o   Adapters auto populated (user does not have to manually select assembly to add to Neuron) o   SharePoint adapter fixed and configuration simplified

·         Channels

o   Added notification of server state changes from the channel to the client, so clients could know if the channel was online or offline

·         Configuration

o   Dynamic detection  when endpoints are Enabled/Disabled fixed o   Dynamic Configuration and shutdown of endpoints fixed o   Transacted messaging for Pub/sub configurable o   Refresh interval for Health Monitor configurable

·         User Interface

o   Improved test client to support the ability to add or modify adapter meta data properties o   Improved test client to support ability to submit any type of message from file

·         Enterprise Environment

o   Neuron databases can now be created from the explorer UI

·         Security

o   Added “Run As” capability to all Endpoints and hosted workflow. This allows users to specify the credentials under which to run the endpoint under.

·         API

o   Client<T> API can now search based on Topic

·         Activity Monitoring and Reporting

o   WMI creating multiple instances of esbclient parties based performance counters fixed.
