Shawn Wildermuth wrote a great DevX article on Making Sense of the XML DataType in SQL Server 2005.

The most entertaining part of this article, as a current Atlantan and Braves fan, is his indictment of John Smoltz' contributions at the plate:

     <Players>
       <Pitcher name="John Smoltz" role="Closer"/>
       <Pitcher name="Russ Ortiz" role="Starter" />
       <ThirdBase name="Chipper Jones" 
          role="Starter" bats="switch"/>
      </Players>
   </Team> 

No "bats" attribute?  You callin' Smoltzy a guaranteed inning out?
