Thanks
for checking out my blog. Jon invited me to spin this up on his site. Well thats
not actually what happened, I invited myself but he didnt put up much of a fight.
I figured that Jons blog was so full
of practical information that someone had to bring the signal to noise ratio down
a little bit. I volunteered to provide an ivory tower viewpoint to Jons real world
implementation experiences documented in his blog and
on his wiki.
You see Im a product manager on the BizTalk Server team at Microsoft.

760 of 889 | BizTalk Server 2006 Rolling Thunder and Dev Competition ($50k, product prizes etc) - Firstly, last years developer competition was so much fun we are doing it again but bigger. 761 of 889 | The virtue of contract-first - I love being challenged on my opinions. I`ve been challenged extensively regarding my opinion on contract-first development, although mostly by folks at Microsoft like Don, Doug, and Dare. The funny thing is when I have the same discussions with folks in the field building systems today, it`s a no-brainer. So why the disconnect between vendors and the rest of the worldI believe it`s because most vendors don`t see (or appreciate) the main virtue of the contract-first approach, which has more to do with collaboration than interoperability. The latter is a result of the former. Let me explain. Interoperability is the net result of a well-designed contract. By "well-designed" I mean a contract ......

770 of 889 | Namespaces in BizTalk - BizTalk Server uses the root node and the namespace to identify schemas when processing messages. When you create a schema and generate an instance, you will see the namespace as ns0 such as: ns0:Root xmlns:ns0="http://BizTalkSample.Schema1"> ID>ID_0ID> ns0:Root> Root> ID>ID_0ID> Root>http://localhost/post.aspx" Reason: This Assembler cannot retrieve document specification by using this type: "Root".What BizTalk is stating is that it cannot determine which schema to use because there is no namespace specified. We ran into this problem because we had several schemas that all had the same Root, but we had to remove the namespaces because the backend system would not accept the XML. So what i......

792 of 889 | BizTalk Server 2004: Install BizTalk SP1 now! - The project I am currently working on ran into a problem with a custom XSLT attached to a BizTalk map. The XSLT transforms a simple BizTalk message into an XHTML page. One of the fields in the BizTalk message carries an XHTML payload that needs to be `dumped` verbatim into the page produced by the transform. To do this, we use the element with the disable-output-escaping attribute set to `yes`. This prevents the XSLT engine from outputting entities such as < and > instead of .
We tested the XSLT using the .NET framework, the MSXML XSLT engine and the default XSLT engine included in XML Spy. Everything worked fine. However, when we attached the XSLT to a BizTalk map and de......

We`ve run into this in volume testing and all of the sudden, our MessageBox is huge and filled with suspended messages.
So the alternatives are to terminate using HAT and with this one, you can only terminate 2047 messages at a time, create a script that will run and terminate the messages or find the new little nugget that came with SP1 of BizTalk.
