Overview
The sequence of elements within an XML documents is
relevant to the logic that processes the document. The XMLLinkedNode class is
used to keep tabs on the relationship of neighboring elements. It is derived
from XMLNode, but provides a series of child classes that represent types of
XML elements, including the XMLElement class itself.
Example (VB.NET): How
to reference the next sibling of an element, using the
XMLLinkedNode.NextSibling property.
The example here loads an XML document into memory, and
then steps through its elements using the XMLNode.ChildNodes property. The
XMLLinkedNode object is used to identify elements that are positioned next to
others.
Dim objDocument As New System.Xml.XmlDocument
Dim objXmlNode As System.Xml.XmlNode
Dim objXmlLinkedNode As System.Xml.XmlLinkedNode
Dim strValues As String
Dim x As Integer
objDocument.LoadXml("<parentElement1><childElement1>Test
Value 1</childElement1><childElement2>Test Value
2</childElement2><childElement3>Test Value 3</childElement3><childElement4>Test
Value 4</childElement4></parentElement1>")
