Understanding XForms, cont.

For More Information

Because XForms is still in its infancy, not a lot of information is available. However, the W3C, as usual, does have information on XForms on its Web site. Here are some URLs to guide you in your discovery of XForms:

  • The W3C XForms Working Group. www.w3.org/MarkUp/Forms
  • XForms 1.0: Data Model specification www.w3.org/TR/xforms-datamodel
  • Mozquito. www.mozquito.com This is an XHTML editor vendor that not only has a significant role in the creation of XForms, but also has created its own version of Web forms-Forms Markup Language (FML). FML is a collection of new elements for XHTML Web pages. Much of the functionality of XHTML-FML was folded into the W3C's coming version of XForms.
  • W3C's public mailing list subscription. Send email to www-forms-request_@w3.org with the word subscribe as the subject. If you decide you want to be removed from the list, send email to the same address with the word unsubscribe as the subject.
