The <body> Tag (XHTML Reference)

Introduction

The <body> tag is the main part of the page. It contains all text or tags, which are important for the viewer. If you are creating your first page, then this tag will be the place where you will insert your images, create your tables or write down your articles. The body tag is not visible like the <b> or the <i> tag. It is a block, which contains the main content of the page.

Alink

This is the color of the active link. The value can be one of the following:

rgb(x,x,x) = the color values from 0-255

#xxxxxx = hex value of the color

Colorname = any colorname

background

URL of an image to be placed in the background of the complete page.

Bgcolor

The background color of the page. The value can be one of the following:

rgb(x,x,x) = the color values from 0-255

#xxxxxx = hex value of the color

Colorname = any colorname

Link

The color of all links in the page. The value can be one of the following:

rgb(x,x,x) = the color values from 0-255

#xxxxxx = hex value of the color

Colorname = any colorname

Text

The color of the text in the page. The value can be one of the following:

rgb(x,x,x) = the color values from 0-255

#xxxxxx = hex value of the color

Colorname = any colorname

Vlink

The color of the visited links in the page. The value can be one of the following:

rgb(x,x,x) = the color values from 0-255

#xxxxxx = hex value of the color

Colorname = any colorname
