The <button> Tag (XHTML Reference)
Introduction
The <button> tag is used to implement a button in the
page. Usually these buttons are placed to perform a task whenever the user
presses them. For example you could place the button in a form and whenever it
is pressed you could send the data to another page or you can call a JavaScript
method when the button is pressed to show a Message.

Here is a short example which disables the button when it’s
clicked via JavaScript.
