The <input> Tag (XHTML Reference)

Introduction

The <input> tag can be used for several purposes. However the main usage was to provide a textbox for the user so that he can enter some data, which is then send to the server. But it is also possible to define buttons and images with buttons. All you have to change is the value of the type attribute.

Example

<input type="text" name="textfield" value="My Text Field" /><br/><br/>

<input type="password" name="password" value="My password field" /><br/><br/>

<input type="submit" name="submit" value="My Submit Button" /><br/><br/>

<input type="reset" name="reset" value="My Reset Button" /><br/><br/>

--> hidden field is here <-- <input type="hidden" name="reset" value="My Hidden Field" /><br/><br/>

<input type="file" name="file" value="My File browser" /><br/><br/>

<input type="radio" name="radio" value="My radio button" /><br/><br/>

<input type="checkbox" name="checkbox" value="My checkbox button" /><br/><br/>

<input type="image" src="http://www.topxml.com/images/topxml_site.gif" /><br/><br/>
