The <param> Tag (XHTML Reference)

Introduction

The <param> tag is always used nested in an <object> tag and defines the parameters for a specific object. For example if the object requires you to pass 5 parameters, then you will have to create 5 <param> tags which define the values and names of the parameter. A parameter can be an URL, speed, msg or whatever the object accepts.

Example

<object classid="clsid:A80FD594-5928-21A3-A6A1-C0AF13234275" id="MyFile" width="100" height="100">

  <param name="BorderStyle" value="0" />

  <param name="MousePointer" value="0" />

  <param name="Enabled" value="0" />

  <param name="Min" value="0" />

  <param name="Max" value="10" />

</object>

Output from the Macromedia website
