XMLDOMAttribute
The XMLDOMAttribute object represents an attribute for an element. Attributes are properties of an element, thus not really children of an element. As mentioned in the XMLDOMNamedNodeMap object, the collection of attributes for an element are
returned in the XMLDOMNamedNodeMap object, which returns an XMLDOMAttribute
object (or an XMLDOMNode object, as it inherits the XMLDOMNode
interface).
The attributes are usually defined in the DTD or Schema
of the XML file.
ExampleIn the following example we get an attribute object from
the first child of the root element object, using the attributes name (which was
defined in the DTD) to return the attribute object.
Dim objDOMDocument As DOMDocument
Dim objXMLDOMElement As IXMLDOMElement
Dim objXMLDOMAttribute As IXMLDOMAttribute
Set objDOMDocument = New DOMDocument
objDOMDocument.async = False
objDOMDocument.Load "http://localhost/xmlcode/people2.dtd"
Set objXMLDOMElement = objDOMDocument.documentElement.firstChild
Set objXMLDOMAttribute = objXMLDOMElement.getAttribute-
Node("PERSONID")
