XSLT Tutorial

Worksheet 4: xsl:value-of

Here's what to do:

For this worksheet we are demonstrating how the xsl:value-of element only processes the node in context.

In the Worksheet_4 directory, open the article.xsl and the penguin.xml files.

This worksheet is a continuation from the article.xsl in Worksheet 3.

Let's replace the "para" xsl:apply-template instruction with an xsl:value-of instruction in our article.xsl file:

<xsl:template match="para">
    <p><xsl:apply-templates/></p>
</xsl:template>

To do this you need to add the "select" attribute to the xsl:value-of instruction:

<xsl:value-of select="."/>

Q:  What did you notice?
